At an african themed awards evening at the new NUMATIC INTERNATIONAL complex in JHB, Cleanquip received the highest award of the South African Numatic dealers. "Dealer of the year" for 2009.

With a turnover well exceeding their nearest runner up, Cleanquip has established themselves, for the second year running, as number one.

Tribute to Ross Blumfield

KPRG Cleanquip will continue to build on the achievements of the past and their vision for the future

Friday 23 July 2010 proved to be a very sad day for the cleaning industry, as a hugely influential and passionate industry player, Ross Blumfield, passed away following a tragic motorcycle accident on 19 July. He will be sorely missed, by his family, friends, industry peers, clients, colleagues and KPRG Cleanquip.

KPRG CleanQuip, established by Paddy and Ross Blumfield 16 years ago with a team of dedicated individuals formed a formidable, competitive and highly successful company built on a foundation of strong values, reliable and committed service.

A family business in the true sense of the word with a name that says it all, K for Kim, P for Paddy, R for Ross and G for Gay. KPRG Cleanquip took its first big steps when in 1994 Paddy Blumfield purchased Lamson Floorcare. The rest is history as within a very short period the company established itself as a major player in the cleaning industry equipment supply sector.

Lamson Floorcare changed its name to KPRG Lamson and continued trading until 1996 when the business was acquired by KPRG CLEAN CC t/a Kärcher Cleanquip and immediately the product range was increased by acquiring a full Kärcher Agency to supplement the existing Numatic International range.

Although the company predominantly operates in the Gauteng province, KPRG Cleanquip have been supplying equipment and service throughout Southern Africa, since 1996, earning an enviable reputation for fast, efficient and effective service. The company received numerous accolades in the form of Awards for Achievements and Service Excellence during this time.

One of the most notable was the 2002 PMR Diamond Arrow Award, placing KPRG Cleanquip first overall in the supply of floor care, chemicals and equipment, as rated by the Industrial Cleaning Industry and Corporate Clients throughout South Africa.

Since inception, Ross and Paddy maintained a vision that KPRG Cleanquip would strive to be “a Company that everyone wants to do business with, that everyone wants to work for and that everyone wanted to own.“

Going forward without Ross will be a huge emotional challenge, both from a family and business perspective. However, because Ross always strived to instil his own high work ethic and an unwavering commitment to constantly meet the promise of great client service and satisfaction in the KPRG Cleanquip team, a strong foundation exists on which Paddy and the KPRG Cleanquip team can persist and build on the achievements of the past and maintain the vision for the future.

Kim Rix (Blumfield) joined KPRG Cleanquip in 2008, to head up and add new focus to the hospitality industry. With established customers including Southern Sun, Sun International, City Lodge Group and other large industry players, KPRG Cleanquip, worked closely together with the Housekeepers Association to prepare, and ready them for the 2010 World Cup.

These strategies proved extremely successful for KPRG Cleanquip and actually exceeded expectation, throughout the run up, during and even post the soccer World Cup, with an ongoing focus to provide expert support and service to this industry.

Learning, growing and moving forward with all the knowledge, experience and forward planning, that worked so well for the FIFA World Cup, Paddy and Kim decided to further this successful business, considering Ross’ vision.

With Paddy at the helm, Kim as GM, and a restructured team including Stuart with 11 years experience working alongside Ross, as Technical Manager, on site liaison and adviser. Eric with 8 years contract cleaning service provider background and Pholly, with 10 years experience as Workshop Manager and on site adviser.

KPRG Cleanquip boasts an experienced and long service staff compliment that will be striving to grow forward as a even stronger and more committed team to further build on Ross’ legacy.
